In the 16th century, the illustrious Mian Ki Malhaar raga was crafted and performed by Mian Taan Sen, a pioneer of the Khayal style of music and one of Emperor Akbar's "nine jewels." This monsoon raga invokes rain to drench the earth, carrying the essence of Veer Sara, a mood of accomplishment and heroism. The raga's intricate structure blended shuddha (sharp) and komal (flat) notes, believed to summon rain when the melodic movement transitioned between these tonalities.

Mian Tansen's musical prowess was said to make raindrops fall, as he reached new heights with the powerful melodies of Miyan Ki Malhar, represented by the harmonious fusion of guitar and sitar symbolizing the raindrops' journey.

The music stirred the anxious heart, seeking the union of romance.
